- The frequent leaker Ben Geskin has just posted a short practical video with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
- The device looks great and appears to be a real improvement over the original Galaxy Fold.
- The Galaxy Z Fold 2 won’t be fully launched until September.
If you’re excited about the full launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, you’ll have to wait about a month. However, Ben Geskin just posted a short practical video showing the opening and closing of the device. It also gives a good idea of how much larger the outer display is compared to the Galaxy Fold.
Check out the leaked video below.

Unfortunately, the soundless clip is pretty short and Geskin doesn’t turn the phone over so we can see the back. Regardless, you will get an idea of what opening and closing the device will look like. It can be seen from the video that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is more stable in this process compared to the Galaxy Fold. However, we need to get one ourselves to confirm this.

The outer display looks a lot better on this device than it does on the Galaxy Fold, too. It still looks thinner than a “normal” smartphone, but at least it doesn’t look tiny.
The only bad news that the leaked video shows is the very noticeable crease in the center of the device when it is open. We were hoping Samsung would have found a way to do this a little more muted with the second generation of the Fold series, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy Z Fold 2 on September 1st. Then we find out all the technical data, the price, the availability and much more. It’s also when pre-orders begin. Mark your calendar! In the meantime, this is where you can express your intention to buy.
