Samsung'sis coming soon, and the is to make their official debut there. But Samsung could also reveal a new smartwatch.
It's been a while since Samsung had a new big clock version. The Gear S3 arrived in late 2016, while a sport-oriented, smaller model, the Samsung Gear Sport, came on the market last fall along with the sleek, curved display fitness tracker, the Gear Fit 2 Pro. It could also skip other hot watches this fall by announcing it before the next Apple Watch, and Google's expected Wear OS smartwatch.

Better Battery Life
Whether it's a larger battery or a more efficient processor, expect the next Gear S4 watch to improve on past performance. Samsung's watches have actually outperformed the average, and the Gear S3 released in 2016 could cost a few days. But the Gear S3 is a big clock. In the past year, Gear Sport has traded some functions like hands-free for a smaller size. Samsung's watches already have integrated sleep monitoring similar to Fitbit and Garmin watches, but better battery life would still help.
A sleeker design and a wild new display?
Last year, Gear Sport took Samsung's smartwatches into a sleeker, more appealing design assortment than the Gear S3's mega-watch feel. Many reports point to crazy new display ideas that would be very Samsung. The new watch might have a second display in the rotating bezel that displays modes or additional features. A frequently-referenced patent from 2017 shows a second screen edge that could provide a second reading for years on the sides, such as the curved OLED edges of Samsung's Galaxy and Note phones.
Samsung's strengths lie in the OLED display tech and earlier smartwatches like the Gear Fit have researched curved displays, so that's not out of the realm of possibilities.
A new name?
Maybe it's not called Gear S4. Some rumors say it could be the Samsung Galaxy Watch that would fit in Samsung's Galaxy Galaxy products. Perhaps the name "Galaxy Watch" also refers to a separate Google Wear OS version of the watch that would be available alongside the Gear S4.
LTE Calling Should Be Back
Samsung made especially smartphone-enabled smartwatchesand while last year's Gear Sport left the feature, it's likely to come back, now that Apple Watch S3 has been showing mobile phone features for months
Added Health Features
Samsung has integrated telemedicine into the Samsung Health Phone App in 2017 through a partnership with Amwell, a US telemedicine service. It's very likely that Samsung's next watch will also feature new sensors: perhaps enhanced heart rate sensors that could target atrial fibrillation or sleep apnea, as Apple and Fitbit are aiming for. Maybe it could measure blood pressure: Samsung's latest Galaxy S9 phones have an experimental blood pressure sensor on the back which has been tested in recent months.
… What about Bixby?
Well, what about it? Samsung's AI on its phones and a growing array of products seem inevitable on the Gear S4, especially as gear watches operate Samsung's own software ecosystem. Bixby would be a step forward from S-Voice, but Google Assistant would be nicer.
Could it run Google's Wear OS software?
A series of reports states that Samsung's next watch will run Google's Wear OS instead of Samsung's Tizen-based software. That would be a surprising shift, but not impossible. Samsung manufactures Windows 10 PCs, Google Chromebooks, and Gear VR headsets with Oculus Mobile Software. It is not afraid to play with the operating systems of other companies. Samsung also made one of the first Android Wear watches, Gear Live. Another option: Samsung has a Gear S4 that runs Tizen, and another version of the watch for Wear OS. Google is expected to launch a new set of revised Wear OS watches in the fall, but these watches will have while Samsung's watches are likely to use Exynos processors manufactured by Samsung.
Will it arrive next to the grade 9? Could be. Anyway, it's coming soon
According to recent reports, a new Samsung watch has already been certified in Europe, indicating an imminent development. It could not be revealed in Berlin at the end of August at the IFA, at Samsung's upcoming August 9th in New York. But we do not know it yet. However, it may be useful for Samsung to discuss it with a new phone when new health features are connected to the S Health feature of cell phones.
