Sarah Sanders becomes Fox News' latest ex-Trump employee

Sanders, who left the White House in June, will make her debut on September 6 before a live episode of "Fox & Friends." It will provide political commentary on Fox News' on-air and digital properties.

In a statement, Sanders praised Fox News, saying that she was "extremely proud" of joining the network.

As White House press officer, Sanders had a weak relationship with the press. During her tenure, the White House eliminated the daily press conference.

It is not uncommon for former White House press officers to appear in cable news channels. Sanders, however, is much less credible than previous spokespeople.

Sanders joined President Trump as he viciously attacked the media and frequently denounced their own insults against journalists. In an interview with investigators of former Special Representative Robert Mueller, Sanders even admitted that she had provided unfounded information to reporters about the dismissal of former FBI director James Comey, the Trump administration.

Hope Hicks, the White House's former Communications Director, joined Fox Corporation in 201
8 as Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer. In July, Raj Shah, the former White House Deputy Press Officer, joined Fox Corporation as Senior Vice President.

The revolving door has also worked in the opposite direction.

Bill Shine, former co-president of Fox News, joined the White House in a top-notch communication role in 2018. Shine left the White House earlier this year. Other members of the network have also abandoned their work at Fox to serve in the Trump administration.

The news that Sanders has come to Fox News comes one day after ABC announces that Sean Spicer, her predecessor White House Press Secretary, has been selected as a candidate for "Dancing With the Stars." The selection of Spicer sparked outrage and even upset some employees in ABC News.

The question is, how could former White House officials who have led the public astray be treated for positions of fame and privilege?

Sanders father, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, is also a Fox News personality.
