Saturn is the chic fashionista supermodel of the solar system. It wears its rings as if it were pulling down the runway of the cosmos. It's a beautiful planet, and the Hubble Space Telescope knows how it looks best. A new Hubble portrait of the Ringed Planet shows that some things change and others stay the same. A great storm, discovered near the North Pole in 201
Hubble is a joint project of NASA and the European Space Agency. Both agencies have published on Thursday publications on the new portrait. "This gives us a wonderful view of its light ice structure," said ESA. "Hubble dissolves many curls and the weaker inner rings."
NASA said, "This image shows unprecedented clarity that has only been seen in snapshots of NASA spacecraft visiting the distant planet." Thecame very close to Saturn before it destroyed itself in 2017 in the atmosphere of the planet.
Scientists will use this Hubble image to track changes on the planet over time. The rest of us can only look at it with awe and remember the wonders of our solar system.
