Schitt’s Creek made Netflix debut last season and comes to Comedy Central

There’s never been a better time to play Schitt’s Creek.

Fresh from the show’s historic night at the Emmy Awards, not only is final season heading for Netflix, but the entire series is also airing on Comedy Central.

Comedy Central will air all six seasons of “Schitt’s Creek” beginning October 2nd. This isn’t a surprising move since Pop TV, a co-video of ViacomCBS, aired the series in the United States. The show’s Comedy Central schedule is pretty intense, with the Kabler scheduled five episodes a week every Friday.

Netflix, which already contains the first five seasons, will start streaming the final season starting October 7th.

The sixth season of Pop TV̵

7;s “Schitt’s Creek” ended in April of this year. Creator Daniel Levy stars on the show alongside his father Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and Annie Murphy. The plot revolves around a wealthy family forced to live in a small town motel after losing everything they own – except, of course, their designer clothes.

Although the show was nominated by Emmy in its fifth season, it dominated this year’s awards with a total of nine wins out of the 15 nominations it received for its final season. It made history by sweeping all major comedy categories, including the Outstanding Comedy Series Awards.

Eugene Levy and O’Hara both took home their very first Emmys. Both stars had previously won writing categories, but “Schitt’s Creek” won the couple’s leading actor and actress awards in a comedy series. Daniel Levy and Murphy took home the Awards for Supporting Actors and Actresses. Daniel Levy also won for writing and co-directing.

The show’s ratings rose with each season, but Daniel Levy said that despite its widespread success, season six was the right time to end.

Pop TV’s deal with Netflix brought “Schitt’s Creek” to new fans over the course of the later seasons. It was the second most popular show that Netflix acquired in March of this year.
