Three school systems in northern Alabama have announced closures for widespread flu symptoms.

The Boaz City Schools are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. According to school officials, more than ten percent of Boaz students were absent today.

"Over the past week, Boaz City Schools have monitored and evaluated our absences on a daily basis, taking all necessary precautions to minimize the disease," officials said.
