Scientists capture inconceivably rare radioactive events

Radioactivity has been detected in xenon-124 – an extremely rare event, as the decay of this particular isotope is remarkably slow: its half-life is 1.8 x 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, or about a trillion times greater than that Age of the universe.
