Scientists invented a true flux capacitor, but not for time travel



The device is a new type of electronic circulator that can control the directional movement of microwave signals. The scientists who published their research in Physical Review Letters proposed two different possible circuits – one borrowed from the design of the three-pronged flux capacitor Doc Brown and Marty McFly, which were used until 1955 in their 2015 DeLorean [19659002] The circulator, after the center for future low-energy electronics technologies (which was involved in the study), "uses the quantum tunneling of the magnetic flux around a capacitor, breaking time-reversal symmetry." This means: "Signals circulate in one direction only around the circuit, much like cars on a roundabout," said Professor Tom Stace of the University of Queensland. As such, the proposed device will be a boon to quantum computing, which requires researchers to precisely direct signals.

What you might ask is really the point, if you can not make a series of sports betting that has already happened? This technology can not only pave the way to the quantum computer, but also lead to better radar and improved wireless and cellular antennas.
