Climate change can be unpredictable. Even the observance of the Paris Agreement does not guarantee that we can avoid serious threats, reports the online edition of Chronicle.info with reference to Znaj.iaob was announced by scientists from the Open University and Sheffield University in the UK.
Some experts doubted the feasibility of curbing rising temperatures as the Earth has already warmed by one degree and this warming remains the sea. Other scientists, however, believe that reducing greenhouse gas emissions can prevent the temperature rise.
The researchers developed a climate model that took into account the ocean-atmosphere interaction, the carbon cycle, and the number of carbon dioxide emissions, and determined the likelihood of reaching the Paris Agreement and identified its impact on the biosphere.
It became clear that limiting the rise in temperature is technically possible in order to reach 50% probability without undue restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions. In this case, however, associated climate changes may be unpredictable for some areas of the earth where they can increase the incidence of weather disasters.
