Live Updates

We will bring this story up to date with the latest results, highlights and analysis from the game. If you can not see the live updates below, please click here .

Preview: Cole launches because Justin Verlander has started Game 4 in a short break, and it was a disaster . Cole, however, is resting normally. Including two regular season starts, Cole has hit 39 of the 79 Rays fights he faced in 2019, or 49.3 percent. That's 39 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings.

Glasnow was very successful in Game 1 until the third time and Jose Altuve has hit him deeply. He returned from a forearm injury late in the regular season and has not thrown more than 76 squares in a game since his return. Glasnow may be limited to 85-90 playing fields in Game 5.

Expect both teams to play very aggressively with their pitching staff when needed in the win or home game. In particular, the Rays Charlie Morton, the starter of Game 3, could ask for relief. Morton has done that before. With the Astros in 2017, he threw four innings three days after a 6 1/3-inning start to finish Game 7 of the World Series.

In terms of home advantage, that does not mean so much in MLB as in most other major sports, but it's still worth noting that the Astros were at home 60-21 this season while the Rays were at home and on the move had identical 48-33 records.
