Off the coast of Japan, a search and rescue operation is being carried out after two US Navy aircraft were involved in a "mishap" ,
Five Marines were believed to be in service Aboard the KC-130 and two of the F / A-18s when the mishap occurred.
The plane took off from Japan's Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni for regular training, and a Japanese search and rescue aircraft responded to help during recovery.
