The saltwater crocodile named MJ died in June at the Koorana Crocodile Farm near Rockhampton, Queensland, in the northeast of the country.
The orthopedic plate was discovered in the intestine of the animal along with various stones that were used for grinding food, during an investigation to his death.
"Strange things appear in crocodile stomachs all the time," farm owner John Lever told CNN Affiliate 7 News. "But finding an operating panel in there, well, we never thought we'd find that."
Lever was not sure if the plate came from a human or an animal.
"The crocodile, it ate something with a plate in it, so it's either a human or a pet ̵
The crocodile The up to 70-year-old had lived on the farm for six years. It was bought from a nearby farm that caught it in the wild.
Lever shared 7 news that an investigation revealed that the plate was made in Switzerland.
"It's probably been in the stomach of the crocodile for decades," he added.
