The earth is going to pass between the sun and Jupiter and face it to the sun in our sky. This will be Jupiter's annual opposition on May 9th. A full moon is also facing the sun. That's why this full moon was near Jupiter. Photo by Suzanne Murphy Photography, Wisconsin, April 29, 2018.

One of the names for the full moon of April – for us in the northern hemisphere – is Pink Moon. Deirdre Horan in Dublin, Ireland wrote: "The Full Pink Moon in the southeast at 21.22, 29.04.2018, I took this in Daylight White to give a pink glow!"
Peter Lowenstein in Mutare, Zimbabwe, saw The moon opened on April 29, 2018 at 5 o'clock in the morning. Jupiter is not in the picture on this photo, but there is also a bright star, just to the left of the moon. It is Spica in the constellation Virgo. Peter wrote that he had seen the moon: "… behind the Murahwa Mountain This beautiful combination combines a picture of the moon setting with a time exposure of the mountain backlit moonlight afterglow."
