Several others have come in defense of the filmmaker too.
After Use The social media platform in defense of James Gunn, Selma Blair left Twitter in solidarity with the dismissed "Guardians of the Galaxy" director. Disney broke all links with the filmmaker after offensive tweets from past years were dug up by Old Right activists, which was not well received by many of Gunn's colleagues and friends. In a tweet that no longer exists along with her report Blair simply wrote: "So long, you can find me on Instagram. #Istandwithjamesgunn."
Blair said earlier on the situation, "If people are punished despite change, what does that teach people about mistakes and developments? This man is one of the good guys." Dave Bautista, the Drax destroyer in the Guardians movies Gunn has also defended.
"Thank you for your talent, your decency and your evolution as a man," Blair has also written. "You supported me when I was in an eerie place and led me to the decent and right you have more character strength than most I know you have understood."
