XSEED Games has announced a delay for the release of Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal
The game will fail in North America and Europe on hotfixes or the usual quality assurance – Sony has requested that the "Intimacy Mode "of the game is removed before it can be released for PlayStation 4.
"The release of Senran Kagura's Burst Re: Newal will be delayed a bit as we have the interactive" intimacy mode "from the PlayStation 4 version of Remaster," said XSEED Games in a Tweet . "The Steam version will appear intact with this mode and launch simultaneously with PlayStation 4. We look forward to sharing the release date soon and appreciate your patience."
A follow-up tweet by XSEED states "Respect the wishes of the platform owner," implying that Sony is blocking the release of the game.
This is not the first time that Sony has intervened to stop a Japanese sexual sex game from the West. Previously, the publisher PQube had to cancel Omega Labyrinth Z a Japanese sexual-themed dungeon crawler that Sony considered unsafe by Western eyes for . Sony blocks the release of PS4 for Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal The Windows PC version will still contain the mode. However, the PC release is also being postponed, so both will be released simultaneously.
XSEED Games localization producer Tom Lipshultz responded directly to a fan and asked why previous games in the series allowed this mode to exist noting This is a "brand new guideline" from Sony. He also added that he thinks, "It's the interactivity in general that's the problem."
