Florida and Miami do not play football every year, but the Gators and Hurricanes still consider themselves rivals. It seems that the bitterness of the rivalry in Orlando came after UM's 24:20 win over UM.
CollegeMarching.com reports that after the game, the Florida band was in their "parade order" marching to their buses after the game outside Orlando (Camping World Stadium) when a group of Miami fans tried to get away to push into the band block. "The director of the Gator band, dr. Watkins was reportedly put in a stranglehold and hit the concrete, banging his head. The report also states that a member of the band was allegedly beaten in the face and had a bloody nose.
