Accessories you need:
Bowl of vinegar
Original shaving cream or you can use whipped cream (edible option )
Food coloring of your choice
Toothpicks or sticks
Hard-boiled eggs in a bowl with vinegar. Let the eggs soak for 20 minutes; This helps to soak the dye in the shells for a vibrant color.
** If you plan to eat the eggs and use whipped cream instead of shaving cream, skip the vinegar bath.
Fill a flat casserole with a layer of shaving cream or whipped cream about one inch thick. Smooth the cream with a spatula. Apply generously drops of food coloring to the cream. When most of the surface is covered with food coloring, pull a toothpick or chopstick over the top of the cream to swirl and marinate the colors.
Next, put on rubber gloves to protect your hands from the dye eggs over the surface of the cream until complete coverage. Lay the egg on a paper towel and let it dry for about 10-15 minutes – do not wipe the cream until the egg is completely dried. Repeat this process with as many hard-boiled eggs as you want to colorize, then use the colored cream mixture.
To clean the egg, you can dip each egg in a bowl of water or simply rub the cream with a mop paper towel.
** Eggs decorated with shaving cream are not edible, but eggs with whipped cream are safe to eat as long as they are kept in the refrigerator.
