Tiger Woods is back in action for the first time since he missed the cut at the US Open this week.

The 14-time Major Champion joins Quicken Loans National at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, an event hosted outside Washington DC. Tiger scored a par 72 on Thursday, a round of 15 pars, two birdies and a double bogey. He jumped back on Friday and fired a 5-under-65 to climb the rankings in competition.

Woods last played the event in 2015 when it was held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. He finished 18th. He missed the cut the year before.

Woods scans at 12:25. ET next to Joel Dahmen. Follow step by step analysis of his second round.

Hole 6 – Par 4

Handle it. Tear it up. Swirl it. Tiger has smoked his driver and now feels it after a rough bogey on number 1. He is just logged in. His approach lands on the green short and left, but rolls within 8 feet once again for a third straight birdie. He took the time to read this book and it pays off. Three birdies in a row, two shots from the top, 2 to 6 (7-under for the tournament)

Hole 5 – Par 4

Another iron from the tee and another fairway for TW , His wedge in the green is just like the last hole, a little to the left of the cup, but good in the birdie area. Back to back would be huge for Tiger here. Tiger sank the putt six feet from the right, two in a row, 1-under 5 (6-under for the tournament).

Hole 4 – Par 4 [19659009] Much better here at the tee for Tiger with the iron. He plays the hole perfectly, lands his tee on a slope and lets him slide into the middle of the fairway. His pitching wedge of 150 is just as good, landing short and to the left of the hole and turning a few yards back to get a good birdie shot. Chirp chirp chirp-. Tiger sinks the putt for birdie and returns to 1945 (until 1945)
