At least two people were injured when shots were fired on Friday night between Pleasantville High School and Camden High School in Pleasantville.
The Pleasantville Police Department and the Attorney General of Atlantic County said they were investigating a shootout for the game that was suspended after the shooting. Officer guards the scene after the gunshots hit the bleachers.
"Pop, Pop, Pop. At least a dozen shots in Pleasantville bleachers, "tweeted NJ Advance Media reporter Kevin Minnick during the game.
"After about five minutes passed in the third quarter, I heard several shots from the Pleasantville stands. At this point, everyone just screamed to come down, "Minnick said a moment later.
"The fans disturbed and there was a lot of screaming. I've been doing this for over 30 years and this is the first time I've experienced this first hand.
EMTs were seen serving the people in the Pleasantville Tribunes, and two ambulances were seen driving from the field.
"It happened over there on the other side, in the Pleasantville bleachers," said Mark Phillipes, Athletic Director of Camden. "I do not know what happened, but they said some kids were beaten."
A Camden Schools tweet said, "We can confirm that no Camden High students were injured or otherwise injured during the incident."
