A group of happy New Jersey teens met Ripley, believe it or not.
Sigourney Weaver surprised the emotional young cast of "Alien: The Play" at North Bergen High School on Friday night after an encore sold-out show.
The acting club of the school performs a show every year. Instead of "Guys and Dolls" or "The Glass Menagerie", the group chose "Alien" this year. In March, it became an international sensation as clips of parent-filmed sci-fi stage production went online – more than 3 million views. Director Ridley Scott gave him his blessing and donated $ 5,000 for the encore.
"It was exciting," said Weaver of the cast, the crew and the 830 trailer house. "We've always looked under our chairs and over our heads because the alien was really scary!"

The show was performed with a small budget of $ 3,500 and a dedicated cast of nine actors. Director Perfecto Cuervo adapted the film into a 90-minute, uninterrupted game with stunning special effects (exploding eggs, hibernation pods, detailed spacecraft controls, and more), requiring a crew of about 20 students. 16-year-old Perez Alien, is covered with phlegm by his dealers Eddie Mantilla (15) and Cassandra Klima (16) while working on the play "Alien," adaptation of the Ridley Scott movie, in North Bergen, NJ "width =" 662 " height = "441" data-srcset = "https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2019/04/alien-north-bergn-01.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=300 300w, https: // thenypost http://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2019/04/alien-north- bergn-01.jpg? quality = 90 & strip = all & w = 1280 1280w, https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2019/04/alien-north-bergn-01.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=662 662w, https: //thenypost.files .wordpress.com / 2019/04 / alien-north-bergn-01.jpg? quality = 90 & strip = all & w = 1324 1324w "data-sizes =" (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 662px "/>
"Alien: The Play" is a disquieting and compelling stage show, as the short videos released in March suggest. It's more than a gimmick. The teenage actors perform with remarkable intensity, and if the alien stalked the theaters – paired with a sound design of roaring growls that Broadway would envy – the spectators were very nervous. After the strange baby burst out of Kanes stomach (Pedro Sarmiento), the cast was sprayed with fake blood.
Cuervo, who rehearsed his cast for six months, kept Weaver's special performance under lock and key until Friday.
"I knew it for about two weeks, but they told me nothing could be said. She wants to surprise the children, "Cuervo told the Post. "She comes out of nowhere and the kids started screaming. Ripley started to cry. "
The meeting with Weaver" was unreal, "said Gabriella Delacruz, the 18-year-old actress who plays the main character opposite the post office. "She is the queen."
"I prayed that she show up," she added. "But I thought she was too busy for that!"
At the after-school Cafeteria, representatives of the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts offered each actor a scholarship of $ 10,000.
