"You can not touch us @ LarryNassar," read the banner hanging on a window in the Psi Upsilon Brotherhood on Saturday He is serving a life sentence for child pornography and criminal sexual behavior after more than 150 women and girls have stated that he has sexually abused her for over two decades. Biles himself said that Nassar once abused her.
The gymnast became aware of the sign after seeing people condemn it on Twitter. She tweeted that it would be "incredible" for someone to hang up such a sign.
"This is the stuff that makes me sick, I hope the school is taking the right measurements to study this," she said.
The sign was later removed, according to a statement by the University of Michigan.
"The leadership of the local Psi Upsilon Fraternity chapter took immediate action to remove the banners, and the University's Brotherhood and Sisterhood Office immediately turned to the chapter's president and advisor," said Rick Fitzgerald, spokesman for the chapter University of Michigan. "The chapter will take corrective action with those responsible for hanging the banners and those who have not intervened."
Members of the university community also submitted complaints against fraternity to the Greek review panel for activities, Fitzgerald said.
