A National Guard soldier who had recently returned home from a one-year mission was found tied up and shot dead in his home in Tennessee, according to the authorities.
The body of Jacob Dean Bishop from Lenoir City was found by his mother on October 1, the Loudon County Sheriff's Office said in a press release on Facebook last week. Sheriff Tim Guider said that the deputies arrived at the apartment shortly before 7:45 am "quickly realizing that it was a foul".
Death is being investigated as murder, he said.
Investigators said, Bishop, 35, a father of two was found physically handcuffed and shot several times. Guider said it seems the murder was an "isolated case".
In an update of the investigation on Tuesday, the authorities asked the public for information on a white SUV that witnesses said had been seen in the area several days before Bishop was killed. The SUV was also removed from the area on the day of the murder.
No arrests had been made by Wednesday. The authorities said the suspect or the suspects should be considered "armed and dangerous in view of the specifics of the murder".
"We continue to work tirelessly and around the clock to bring the party (s) responsible for the murder of one to. html US serviceman to bring to justice and the bishop's family to get a degree, "the Sheriff said in a statement on Facebook on Tuesday his fiancée Brittany Kindred. The sheriff's office said he had returned home a few months ago after spending a year in Poland.
Kindred posted several messages on Facebook and asked for information regarding the case.
