Sony Sets Publication Data for Morbius and Ghostbusters 3
and Ghostbusters 3 Release dates during the summer of 2020. The currently unidentified Ghostbusters movie (which will ignore the reboot in 2016 and directly follows Ghostbusters 1. & 2 ) will fall on 10 July 2020, while the Spider-Man spin-off Morbius (in the footsteps of Venom ) will follow only three weeks later on July 31st 2020.
Both Summer Dates are currently out of direct competition, though in the month of Minions 2 is an unnamed movie by Christopher Nolan and Disney's Jungle Cruise will be played. Venom 2 is now the most unofficial rival for Sony's other slot for a Marvel movie, which is on October 2, 2020.

Morbius is Sony's adaptation of the Marvel anti-hero Morbius the Living Vampire. The film is filmed by Daniel Espinosa ( Life Safe House ) based on a screenplay by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Netflix Lost in Space ) the Marvel Comics character Created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane, who appeared for the first time in 1971 as "Amazing Spider-Man" # 101.
Originally Dr. with a form of vampirism that gave him superior strength, fangs and a taste for the red stuff. The character fought Spider-Man several times, though he earned some of his own books in which he had a more heroic bow. He has a continuing feud with the character Blade the Vampire Hunter in the comics. Morbius was previously seen on television Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six and was originally up for his movie debut in Blade his cameo was canceled and plans to make him a villain Blade II scrapped.
Arad and Tolmach will produce the film Morbius with Lucas Foster and Sony Executive Palak Patel oversees the studio. This is one of several Sony Spider-Man spin-off projects, including the recently announced Silk and Nightwatch Black Cat . and Silver Sable .

Oscar nominee Jason Reitman ( In the Air Juno ) becomes a director and co-writer of the new Ghostbusters film and take the mantle from his father Ivan Reitman, who directed the original Ghostbusters (1984) Ghostbusters 2 (1989). The younger Reitman also had a memorable cameo appearance in the second film.
The script is co-written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan ( Monster House Poltergeist ). The goal is to begin production later this year. While it is not yet known who will return from the surviving Ghostbusters cast members (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, Rick Moranis), it has been reported that Reitman wants to hire four youthful actors (two boys) and two girls in lead roles to fight supernatural villains.
In addition to the new sequel, there is an animated Ghostbusters film under development.
