Questions about AI, resolution, frame rates, price and more.
Yesterday, Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki made a video of Sony's demonstration of the next generation of PlayStation vs. Performance. Shared PlayStation 4 Although the difference in load times is significant, some fans have raised questions as to what this hardware boost means for AI enhancements, screen resolutions, frame rates, and the ultimate price.
In the demonstration, Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 ran on next-generation prototype hardware, which ran in comparison to running on a PS4 Pro. The video showed how the new hardware loads the Spider-Man version of NYC much faster and more seamlessly than the current hardware.

This demo has led to a lot of fan speculation on the Internet about what the new hardware can do and what that extra power and speed means for developers. In a Reddit thread for R / PS5, user HopOnTheHype noted his interest in potential AI and physics improvements that new hardware could bring: "More power means developers have more freedom to play with their games Yes, some developers will just create open galaxy games with procedural generation and all that, but some focus on other things, some on Ai, physics, lighting, animation or whatever, some focus on graphics, but more power means less creativity for the creators. "
Commenting on how hardware performance will simply lead to bigger and more intense games, OmNomDeBonBon responded," More RAM, and more bandwidth means also means bigger worlds with more details. The PS5 will have a much faster CPU … allowing for more complex worlds, more NPCs, more destructible elements, more realistic physics, and so on. "
User Bikonito hopes developers will not have to focus on graphics and loading At times, they're aiming for higher frame rates, saying," Hopefully, developers will focus on 60 fps as the main feature rather than 50% faster load times. The same goes for 4k, I really do not care. Give me the 60fps. "
That'll be damned expensive, right? "
With the first round of information about the next generation PlayStation attributed to us by lead systems architect Mark Cerny, he claimed that the console's solid-state hard drive (SSD) has a wider bandwidth than any SSD available on PCs This will only marginally improve the ability of users to swap the PS4 hard disk for a faster SSD, and high-capacity SSDs remain expensive and fans are worried about integrating with next-generation PlayStation systems […] These concerns were quickly addressed in Mochizuki's post on Twitter, with commentator @ Whiffy5 saying, "This is going to be hell expensive, or ? "And @WarOnFanservice " Harddrive "will not be interchangeable and will be overprior to me Call it now like the PSVita. However, other commentators did not believe that Sony would sell the console for over $ 500, and although some of the protesters themselves were skeptical, many were impressed by the generational differences in load times.
Commentators were also impressed with the jump from the PS4 Pro to this next-generation hardware in a review by Games Reddit. User Swiperrr wrote: "Adding an SSD or equivalent m.2 drive to the PS5 is a crazy upgrade, which not only means that loading times are a lot faster, but also that development can be easier because developers are down No need to worry about how to hide loading screens or how to organize their data so well. "To that question, CaptainCrunch replied," However, it probably means that disk space will be a problem. "I doubt a PS5 with a 4-TB Concerned that this could mean smaller textures and less uncompressed audio. "
However, user Khanarx was not so impressed with the demo and wrote," I'm the only one who thinks that this This is basically just the loading times of HDD and SSD. "Ninety9Balloon's user replied:" Given the fact that d While people still do not believe that the next generation will have SSDs, although Sony has confirmed this for the PS5, this is a pretty big deal.
AccursedBear's comments further indicated that this speed improvement is being downplayed and found that loading screens are often hidden when walking in current games, and traveling through portals in God of War becomes damn boring if Mimir stops making lines
In his original Twitter post, Mochizuki also mentioned that Sony explained the console's "seamless" function using the phrase "anytime, anywhere without interruption". Several comments on this post revealed that Sony may be trying to make its next console wearable, the Nintendo Switch. However, the presentation was kept in Japanese, and the translation leaves room for interpretation – there's little else that suggests the PS5 becomes portable.
In an official release of PlayStation, Sony reiterated that the next generation PlayStation will include a new GPU and CPU, SSD, ray tracing capabilities, backward compatibility, 3D audio and more. In the same version, however, it has been confirmed again that the company has not yet talked about the price, the specific release date, games and more of the system.
Find out more about this Next-Gen console in every detail we know about the specifications and the potential price and more. It will be able to play the best PS4 games that are already available on the market, but there are some PS5 games that we believe are already in development.
