Sources, State Police: State forces killed in the wreck of I-294



A US Army soldier was killed during a service when he responded to a traffic accident on I-294 in the Northbrook area, state police and other sources said.

The crash happened shortly after 6 o'clock in the morning. on I-294, near Willow Road, when the soldier responded to a crash and was hit by a vehicle, a statement from the Illinois State Police said.

According to a source familiar with the incident, the soldier was assigned to the tollbooth district, has died.

The soldier was taken to Glenview Hospital in Glenview, where he was pronounced dead, said Amy Ferguson, spokeswoman for the hospital.

The last soldier killed during the service of the Illinois State Police was Ryan Albin, who died in a vehicle accident in June 201

7 after a car accident near a construction zone. On March 28, 2013, 28-year-old soldier James Sauter from Vernon Hills was killed during his service on I-294 near Northbrook. His police car was parked on the shoulder of the south-facing lane when the tractor-trailer driver had hit it. The impact hit Sauter's vehicle at least 500 feet above the mean before it went up in flames.
