SEOUL, South Korea ̵

1; South Korea held anti-North Korea propaganda broadcasts on its tense border On Monday, representatives of the two Koreas met again to discuss details of the upcoming talks of its leaders, which should be expected to focus on the North's nuclear program.

Seoul had been sending propaganda messages and K-pop songs from frontier speakers since the fourth North nuclear power test in early 2016. The North quickly adapted to the actions of the South with its own frontier shipments and balloons with anti-South Korean leaflets across the border.

South Korea has shut down its broadcasts on Monday to ease military tensions and create an environment for peaceful talks, Seoul's defense ministry said in a statement. He said Seoul hopes the decision will result in both sides ceasing slander and propaganda activities.

The Yonhap News Agency, citing an unidentified government source, said North Korea had turned off many of its propaganda mailings later on Monday. Yonhap previously reported that some North Korean broadcasts were heard sporadically in the South on Monday morning. South Korean defense officials said they could not immediately confirm the status of the shipments from the North.

The movement comes amidst a recent thawing of hostilities, with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un trying to get to Seoul and Washington after his country's lead. Sixth and strongest nuclear test and three long-range missile test launches last year

Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in will meet for the third time in a summit meeting in Panmunjom, a Korean border village, on Friday. Kim will have separate talks with US President Trump in May or early June, which will be the first North Korea US.

On Monday, the two Koreas held a third round of working-level talks in Panmunjom and agreed to hold a joint dress rehearsal on Wednesday, Moons office said in a statement. The two sides agreed that Friday's summit would include a welcome ceremony and banquet dinner as well as a formal meeting between Moon and Kim.

The Koreas agreed last week to allow live television broadcasts for key parts of the summit. On Monday, it was declared that North Korea has also arranged live broadcasts of unspecified events on the north side of Panmunjom by South Korean media.

The Korean summit will take place in a South Korean building on the south side of Panmunjom. This means that Kim has to cross the border into South Korea, which is the first such act of a North Korean leader since the end of the Korean War of 1950/53.

Kim has said he is ready to set up his nuclear program for trial. However, it is unclear what disarmament steps he will offer during the two summit talks. US officials have stated that they want to carry out complete nuclear disarmament in the north.

North Korea said Saturday it will close its nuclear test facility and suspend nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile tests. But it does not stop pointing out that it will give up its nuclear weapons or reduce its production of missiles and their components.

Trump tweeted on Sunday anyway that the North has "agreed to denuclearization (so big for the world)" and no further tests!

Trump's election for next foreign minister, CIA director Mike Pompeo, traveled to North Korea on Easter weekend to lay the foundations for the summit, and Pompeo's trip was a clear signal that preparations were being made for the North US Summit is underway, though many US and other foreign experts have had doubts.
