Thomas Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs are still together despite rumors that their reality TV romance is on hold.
The pair Southern Charm has been going strong for over a year since its meeting in May 2017, Jacobs tells PEOPLE Exclusive. They do not promote their relationship as much as before.
"We've just been chilling out on the social media front," says Jacobs, 33. "I think that's why people ask things because we're both very public, I like social media, but we kind of relaxed, So we get a lot of these questions because we do not take pictures. "
" But I can tell you, we're fine now, "Jacobs continues. "We're less busy, less in the city, less in bars or restaurants, we see Netflix every night, we eat ice cream, we order food, we were homosexual, and that brought us closer."
It has been a couple of rough months for both in the limelight.
Ravenel, 55, is involved by the South Carolina police for allegations of sexual assault against him by "Nanny Dawn," who was on the show in care for Ravenel's two children with ex-Kathryn Dennis: Daughter Kensie, 4, and son Saint, 2½. (Ravenel has denied the allegations made by his lawyer.) Meanwhile, Jacobs has been accused of being an escort and backlash by fans as they quashed their feud with Dennis in the fifth season of Southern Charm wrapped in Thursday. They are harsh words that have caused the certified nurse to have some severe anxiety.
During hard times, Jacobs and Ravenel were each other's support system.
"He was hateful for me through episodes after episodes," says Jacobs. "I was crying, I was very sad, my world was really shaken a little bit, and there are times when it's just like this:" I'll come over because I think you need me now. "Or simply," I bring you lunch, I bring you dinner, I'm worried that the stress has come to you or you eat nothing. "He was just a shoulder to keep crying and he really did get up."
"Sometimes Thomas gets angry because he talks a lot about Thomas, and I did not see that," she adds. "He's just doing his own crap, his are more serious than what I'm dealing with, and I've seen that he really got me through it all first, the fact that he made me a priority "He made sure, after an episode, that someone who said something hurtful said," It's okay, baby. You'll be fine, who cares, do not read it. "He's been through this before, so he'll say, 'You just have to laugh about it.'"
The Experience of Being in the Line of Fire (19659002) "He is the only person who can truly identify with me and has had the same experience with me," says Jacobs, who moved to South Carolina to join Ravenel to be Montecito, California. "I can not really identify with anyone, not even with my family or friends, I come from work and he's always my first call, he's my family, he's everything I've got here, it's made us stronger that way
Staying busy and focusing on work has helped her bond.
"We get this time apart and he does not annoy me, think That's the only reason she's with me because I support her And I'm not annoying him thinking I stay with his way of life it makes our relationship better, "she says.

Marriage is not on the horizon for either. "I'm not bringing up the marriage the way I was last year, you know, somehow you pump the break up a bit," Jacobs laughs.
But is she worried that Ravenel will not be satisfied, considering he was once married and has children? "With any relationship, who knows where it's going," she says. "I'm not going to waste my time with someone I do not see a future with, if we're not in the same place in five years, I will not get that time back and I want those things he used to have, marriage, kids … "
" That's how I look at it: I have to wait for the right person all the time, but I do not have all the time in the world to waste on the wrong thing, "she says.
She is annoyed: "If you can keep it for more than a year, it's like golden, it's worth even more time in Thomas years!"
