A Southwest Airlines aircraft flying from Oakland to Burbank, California, rolled off the runway on Thursday morning when it rained heavily in the area.
The plane reportedly initiated its emergency stop system after it had rolled off the runway from Bob Hope Airport, also known as Hollywood Burbank Airport. On board were 117 people.
The FAA confirmed the incident on Twitter and said the aircraft had come to a standstill at the end of the runway in the Engineered Material Arresting System, a bed to quickly stop aircraft.
