LAS VEGAS >> The Chief Executive of Southwest Airlines says the Dallas-based airline is considering taking non-stop flights between Las Vegas and Hawaii.
Southwest's CEO, Gary Kelly, says taking flights from four California cities to Hawaii is the priority this year, but it may be possible to add flights from Nevada to Hawaii this year.
The airline hopes to fly to Hawaii in April.
She completed a test flight from Oakland, California, to Honolulu last month to show the federal aviation officials that they should be allowed to fly across the Pacific.
The airline is awaiting certification by the Federal Aviation Administration to begin commercial flights to Hawaii.
