SpaceX and CEO Elon Musk have released videos that provide an expanded insight into the unexpectedly dramatic conditions faced by Falcon payload fairings when reentering the atmosphere, as well as the first successful landing on the GO Ms. Tree network.
Taken with a GoPro camera on board during the launch of the USAF Space Test Program-2 (STP-2) by Falcon Heavy on June 25. The minute-long track features a light show that suggests a spacecraft is entering hyperspace rather than the more profane reality. Shortly after SpaceX posted the reentry video, CEO Elon Musk followed with a video showing the gentle landing of a disguise on Ms. Tree's net. Probably the disguise with attached camera and the disguise, which landed first successfully in the net of Mr. Steven (now GO Ms. Tree), are the same half. Regardless, the videos document an important step toward SpaceX's ultimate goal of disguising re-use.
