Today's episode of Marvel's agents of SHIELD "All roads lead …" involved a great death, one that The Future or Fall of the World May Change
SPOILERS for Marvel's agents of SHIELD "All Roads Lead …", follow.
"All Roads Lead …" picks up where last week's episode was. "The honeymoon," has stopped. Yo-Yo, Fitz, and Simmons found the place where Baron Wolfgang von Strucker's particle infusion chamber lay and sabotaged the machine. Unfortunately, the son of Ruby and Strucker, Werner, came before they could escape the facility.
Yo-Yo was forced to negotiate with the Superior and was rendered incapable of battle. With that, Fitz and Simmons were alone with Ruby and Strucker. Ruby demanded that they repair the particle infusion chamber, despite their warning that the "Destroyer of the Worlds" would have dire consequences. They were forced to obey her and repair the machine, although they stalled as much as possible.
Meanwhile, as the episode's title implies, all the other stories that took place simultaneously in the episode began to unite. SHIELD was able to find the position of General Hale's Hydra base when Hale began to understand what had happened to Gravitonium in contact with Carl "Crusher" Creel, the Absorbing Man. Creel was maddened by two warring voices in his head, one by Dr. Franklin Hall and one of Ian Quinn.
Hale realized what Ruby and Strucker were doing when Daisy Johnson and Melinda May broke into their facility. She quickly ordered her forces to retreat and surrender to SHIELD so that they could stop Ruby before she tried to connect to the gravitonium.
But they were too late. When they arrived, Fitz and Simmons had no chance to stand and Ruby had entered the room, and Strucker started the particle infusion.
The process proved too much for Ruby. She had completed only 8 percent of the process before Rubin was pulled out. Still, the Ruby was enough to float in full gravity, crush the Strucker's head with gravity, expose Fitz and Simmons, and pin it to the wall.
Hale and Daisy arrived and tried Ruby, while the other man escaped. Then Yo-Yo came back into the room. Yo-Yo realized that Ruby was the one to cut off her arms. Despite the immense pain, Yo-Yo used her super-speed to steal one of Ruby's chakras and cut Ruby's neck. Ruby's body floated in the air and the gravitonium burst out of her body.
When Daisy and Yo-Yo woke up, Hale was gone. Daisy criticized Yo-Yo for her actions, but Yo-Yo remained convinced that the murder of Ruby broke the cycle and saved the world.
That remains to be seen. The voices in Ruby's head demanded that they be free. Now … maybe they are? And then there's Hale. With nothing left to lose, Hale contacted the Confederation and was more than willing to give the alien army the location of SHIELD and the gravitonium they own. Maybe the world actually ends with it.
