St. Joseph's Health acquires the New York Heart Center




The New York Heart Center with sites in Watertown and Governor was purchased

St. Joseph's Health announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement to acquire the New York Heart Center, a Syracuse-based cardiology practice that provides comprehensive services for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of a variety of heart diseases.

983, board-certified cardiologists at NYHC have worked closely with St. Joseph's Health and other local hospitals and healthcare systems to address patients at each of their seven locations in Syracuse, Cicero, Oswego, Watertown To supply Auburn, Governor and Pulaski.

St. Joseph's Health will now encompass the seven NYHC locations and 99 employees, including its 11 cardiologists, as part of the acquisition.

Officials said there will be no disruption in service and patients should expect the same high level of care as at the NYHC.

Eugene Lozner, President of the New York Heart Center, informed about this transaction. The NYHC serves more than 40,000 patients a year.
