Stagecoach Concertgoers Post Photos of Massive Fire at Festival Campsite

The event started on Friday, with the first sentences of the day beginning around noon local time.

Three campers were destroyed by fire, while a quarter was damaged at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California on Friday (April 27). The participants shared images of smoke clouds in social media. According to local firefighters, no injuries were reported.

At 2:11 local time, a fire was reported to Cal Fire / Riverside County firefighters at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, where the festival takes place. The first arriving firefighting company reported two RVs that were completely on fire. The fire was at 2:20.

Billboard has contacted the festival promoter Goldenvoice for more information, but has not received a response at the time of publication.

Participants began to share information about the fire and the looming smoke on social media, some of which were unsure how to proceed.

According to a post by Nikie Johnson, a Southern California News Group data journalist on Twitter, the festival announced a message on the Jumbotron screens that the fire at the nearby RV 5 is under Control was paving the way for emergency personnel.

The Stagecoach Festival follows at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this month – both will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio and will be Golden Voice.

This year's Stagecoach series includes headliners Florida Georgia Line on Friday, Keith Urban on Saturday and Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood on Sunday. The first performances on Friday started around noon local time.
