Evgeny Kuznetsov, captain of the capitals, left Game 2 of the Stanley Cup final on Wednesday after being hit by Golden Knights defender Brayden McNabb
Kuznetsov tried to put the puck on the offensive in the first half throw met with the oncoming McNabb. He grabbed his left arm and headed straight for the locker room of the capitals. He would not return for the rest of the period. The 26-year-old did not return at the beginning of the second period, signaling an end to his night.

The capitals decided that Kuznetsov could return "questionable" and his injury is considered a violation of the upper body.
Kuznetsov missed three games in the regular season. He leads the capitals with 24 points in the playoffs and is in the midst of an 11-game scoring – a capital record. As the team's top-line center, it would be a crushing blow to Stanley Cup's hopes of the Capitol to miss future games. Head coach Barry Trotz continues to use Nicklas Backstrom and Lars Eller for Kuznetsov.
