Just when hope seemed almost lost, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming back
In a stunning announcement Thursday morning Clone Wars panel at San Diego Comic-Con, supervising director Dave Filoni revealed that the beloved CG animated series is getting a revival to the series after their uncensored cancellation in the year 2013 to complete.
The somewhat devious, not Hall H panel was presented as a reflective 10-year anniversary of the series with Filoni and special guests to honor the show's original run from October 2008 to March 2014; and without Major Star Wars presence elsewhere during the congressional weekend, it seemed likely that the panel would focus solely on celebrating the past.
At the end of the panel, however, came the great revelation. The fans were shown a new trailer and a graphic with the hashtag "#CloneWarsSaved", which resulted in standing ovations from the crowd.
In typical Star Wars Fashion, most details are still kept secret, although StarWars.com has officially announced that the series will be revived with 12 completely new episodes on Disney's upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service.
I really do not think we would ever have the opportunity to return to The Clone Wars " Filoni said in a press release after the announcement." Thanks to the relentless fan support and the team that owns Disney's Direct -to-consumer streaming, we will now learn more about these stories. We feel a tremendous responsibility to do something that lives up to the legacy of George Lucas. The original series and I think our team, many of whom have worked on the show from the start, has taken up the challenge.
The CGI animated series created by George Lucas examines the triennial period between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith with well-known characters such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi -Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala, Darth Maul and Yoda – included in the launch of some new fan favorites, such as Ahsoka Tano, Cad Bane, Captain Rex and more
Notable voice talent on the original series Timeless Stars Matt Lanter as Anakin, Tim Curry as Chancellor Palpatine, and Darth Sidious as Stern Wars Live action stars Ahmed Best and Anthony Daniels continue their roles as Jar Jar Binks and C-3PO, respectively. In 2014, author Brett Friedman told a fan on Twitter that scripts for Clone Wars The seventh and eighth season had been completed before the series was canceled, but it remains to be seen wait to see if these stories will be used in the coming new seasons.
