Streets of Rage 4 revives Sega's classic Beat's up series

After a 24-year break, Streets of Rage is back. Publisher Dotemu, which specializes in classic games, today announced that it is collaborating with developers Lizard Cube and Guard Crush Games on Streets of Rage 4, a new entry into Sega's classic Beat'em up franchise. You can see the debut trailer above.

The first Streets of Rage appeared in 1992 for the Sega Genesis. She had two sequels that ended in 1994 with Streets of Rage 3. The games featured punk aesthetics and catchy soundtracks. The franchise was a Sega standard during the 16-bit era, but it never lived beyond that (until now).

Dotemu and Lizard Cube worked on Wonder Boy earlier: The Dragon's Trap, a 201

7 remake of the classic side scroller Wonder Boy III, which replaces the sprites of the original with beautiful hand-drawn art. Streets of Rage 4 is a similar style. Guard Crush Games made Streets of Fury, a 2009 Streets of Rage-inspired beat-up.

Streets of Rage 4 has no release date.
