There have been some issues with DirecTV's Sunday Ticket service this year. At the beginning of the season, some customers said they did not get what they paid for. Now, mid-season, another apparent flaw appeared. DirecTV Sunday Ticket subscribers were generally asked to pay more for Sunday Ticket games as if the games were pay-per-view events.
People on Twitter were not too happy.
When people tried to call customer service, of course, it was very busy because all flooded the DirecTV call centers to complain about the glitch.
The problem for football fans is that they have no choice here. DirecTV has an exclusive contract with the NFL. They are the only service that has Sunday ticket. If you are a fan who lives outside of your team market or just football success, you have to deal with DirecTV.
The problem for DirecTV is that this service is not cheap. Some people pay more than $ 400 for the highest package. That's a juicy issue.
There are no other options, but the constant problems experienced by Sunday Ticket subscribers should force the NFL to look at their deal with DirecTV. The whole goal is to make sure the league gets as many eyes as possible on many football matches. If people get problems from DirecTV, they can unsubscribe or refuse the ticket.
