Suns swap Trevor Ariza for Wizards against Austin Rivers and Kelly Oubre, according to the report

When the calendar was switched to December 15 on Saturday, players who signed with new teams at the Free Agency can close the deal. And so the three-team deal between the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, and Memphis Grizzlies, who fell apart on Saturday night, is back on track – albeit in a slightly different configuration.

According to Adrian of ESPN Wojnarowski, the Washington Wizards (1

9459006) and Phoenix Suns have agreed to a trade sending Trevor Ariza to Washington. In addition, Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers will be directed to Phoenix as part of the retailer, which does not include draft elections or the third team involved.

This comes just hours after the collapse of a team of three with the Memphis Grizzlies late Friday night . Originally, dealer Trevor Ariza was on his way to the Wizards, Kelly Oubre to the Grizzlies and the Suns, who acquired Austin Rivers, MarShon Brooks and Wayne Selden to complete the deal.

SportsLine's data scientist Stephen Oh's predictions show how the deal develops for both teams.

For the Wizards, trade increases their chances of reaching the playoffs by nearly 20 percent.

On the sunny side, they do not really care much. The projections gave them a zero-chance of making the playoffs both before and after the deal, and it actually lowers their expected gains.

In addition, Suns should acquire a 2020 round of the Grizzlies and a conditional 2019 round of the Wizards. However, the Grizzlies and Suns have mixed names and the Suns believed they bought Dillon Brooks rather than Marshon Brooks. The Grizzlies refused to include Dillon Brooks in the deal, so everything broke up.

The Los Angeles Lakers had previously been linked as a potential team that Ariza could acquire in a three-team business. Earlier this month, Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers had talked to the Sun about a deal in which Ariza would have been involved, possibly guarding Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. In addition, the suns are trying to strengthen their back space, which they now have with the addition of rivers. Ironically, Arizona's debut with Washington could come against the Lakers on Sunday (18:00 ET – clock on fuboTV with the extension of the NBA League pass).

In the 2018-19 season, Ariza started in all 26 games for which he was eligible and scored averaging 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists, while 34.8 percent from outside of the bow shot. In a 99-89 win over Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, Ariza scored 13 points in 4-of-7 shooting and fired three shots from the depths after missing a game against the San Antonio Spurs this week.

Ariza is familiar with the Wizards organization because he played for the team from 2012 to 2012. The experienced striker averaged 12.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists, while shooting 39.3 percent out of the area during his two seasons in the US capital.
