A suspect was arrested on Friday after reporting on an active shoemaker situation at the Noblesville West Middle School in Indiana
Sgt. John Perrine, the Indiana Police Information Officer, tweeted that two victims had been taken to the hospital after the incident and their families were notified.
WISH-TV reported that at least two persons were in critical condition after the incident. The victims were an adult and a 13-year-old woman, after the ward. The police do not believe there are other suspects.
The school was closed and the Noblesville Fire Department and police were on site. Students were transported from middle school to Noblesville High School, FOX 59 reported. Parents were asked to pick up their children from high school.
After reports of the filming, a number of politicians tweeted their thoughts.
"Watch closely the situation at Noblesville West Middle School, pray for Noblesville and our entire community," said MP Andrew Carson.
Sen. Todd Young said that he is in relation to the incident with Gov. Eric Holcomb was in contact.
"As the details evolve, please pray for everyone involved," he tweeted.
Noblesville, which is about 20 miles (32 kilometers) kilometers northeast of Indianapolis, is home to about 50,000 people. The middle school has about 1,300 students from grade 6-8.
The incident comes a week after an attack on a high school in Santa Fe, Texas, which killed eight students and two teachers
