Several children of a Rudolf Steiner school in Biel suffer from measles. This is not a coincidence. Now the township has reacted.
Measles is not a phenomenon observed in distant countries such as the Philippines, where the disease has caused more than 100 deaths in recent weeks – nearly half of them are children: also in Switzerland . The disease is not yet eradicated. In Biel, 12 children are now suffering from measles, according to information from CH Media.
All went to Rudolf Steiner school in Biel. The cantonal health authority reacted: in the beginning, it asked the unvaccinated children of the class concerned and their siblings to stay at home for three weeks. In the meantime, the directive was extended to all classes of the school, as stated in the newspaper.
There is fear of inflammation of the brain (encephalitis). It occurs in one of 1000 cases of measles. One-third of patients are at risk of permanent mental damage. In extreme cases, measles encephalitis can result in death.
Anthroposophists Criticize Vaccination
The disease can cause lasting damage in children. With school lock, unvaccinated infants, pregnant women or immunodeficient persons need to be protected. In the context of the Steiner school, according to "CH Media", many parents have decided very quickly to make up for the vaccination of their children.
The vaccination rate seems lower in the school, as the county doctor's office says, which explains the multiplication of infections. No wonder: among anthroposophists, opinion prevails on the fact that measles is conducive to the development of children.
Opponents of vaccination rely on false studies
The leaflet of the Society of Doctors in Anthropology in Germany indicates, for example: "Concerned parents Especially with measles often undergo a deep maturation Because of fever, the child overcomes not only measles but also individualizes his body. "This worldview is not scientifically proven.
A mother of Biel, whose two sons are now suffering from measles, says, "I am convinced that the side effects of a vaccine can be worse than the disease itself," she says. Among opponents to vaccination, the hypothesis that vaccination triggers autism is widespread. A study is often cited – the data of which are falsified by the authors according to the BAG. (neo)
