Taco Bell has a new menu item that competes with chicken chains like Chick-fil-A and Popeyes.
Taco Bell announced it would test its new crispy tortilla chicken offerings in Houston, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, on Thursday before nationwide launch of next year's menu item. Customers can try the deals in a taco for $ 2 or get two offers for $ 3 or three offers for $ 4. You can also get them in the boxes for $ 5 and $ 7.
Taco Bell said he had tested more than 100 versions of chicken tenders before deciding on the final recipe.
The new chicken tenders are placed in a jalapeño buttermilk mixture and gave them a slightly spicy kick. They are covered in tortilla chip crumbs and are served with a new sauce. When Business Insider's Kate Taylor recently tried the new menu item at Taco Bell's headquarters, she noticed that the flavor profile of the sauce was somewhat similar to that of Chick-fil-A or Raising Cane.
Many fast-food chains are trying to find innovative ways to serve chicken – whether it's between two Popeyes rolls dipped in chick-fil-a-sauce or hot nashville oil – and taco bell this is not an exception.
With chicken entrances on the menu, the Californian chain competes with popular chicken chains such as Chick-fil-A, Popeyes, and Raising Cane's, which have all been growing lately. According to Nation's Restaurant News, Cane's revenue grew 22.5% system-wide last year, making it one of the fastest-growing chains in America. Chick-fil-A was America's most popular fast food chain in a recent Business Insider survey.
However, Popeyes caused more waves than any other chicken chain since relaunching in 2019 with its chicken sandwich that dominated the scene after initial clearance.
We can only wait and see if the Taco Bell Chicken Tender Taco will cause a stir.
