Take a look at the EVs that powered the Chicago Auto Show

Plug in the Windy City.

Plug-in interested parties at the Chicago Auto Show 2019 may be disappointed when they hope for fresh offers. This does not mean that you are roaming the McCormick Place's car-fleeted expanses, with the result that no Plane vehicles are seen. As we found out, there are a number of exhibits.

We've put together a gallery (below) of all the battery-powered vehicles we've discovered for those of you who may not have the opportunity to visit the museum at Windy City (which is indeed quite windy, as we've noted ). Apart from looking at what you find at the show, this is also a good indication of what is now (or soon to arrive) from dealers across the country. Among the notable vehicles that were not present were something with a Tesla or BMW badge (among others) and, mysteriously, the Kia Niro EV, which is expected to hit the market shortly.

While the cars caught our attention, so was the case. It's interesting to see another aspect of plug-in ownership: the charger. Almost every plug-in on display was actually plugged in. It was interesting to see which different EVSE brands (home appliances) were used at the various stands. ChargePoint seemed to have the largest share of vehicles, but we found that some companies used devices with their own branding. In the case of the Chevy Bolt, the unit was oddly made by AeroVironment, which sold its EVSE business to the Webasto Group.

At the Risk of Being Like a Car Author Who Loves the Quirkiest and Least Appreciated This writer admits that he preferred to see the Vanderhall Edison2 personally – hopefully soon available, but unable to confirm because his stall was not occupied on both occasions. We understand that our much more practical readers are likely to have different favorites. Meet us in the comments and let us know which vehicle you would most like to decorate your garage with.
