The "Take Over Jam" event at the Chicago Theater was canceled on Thursday for "special environmental safety concerns," according to the theater and WGCI.
The event, presented by 107.5 WGCI, was scheduled to start at 8 pm in the city center.
Both the theater and the WGCI said they had been "advised by the Chicago law enforcement agency" to cancel the Take Over Jam.
The Chicago police confirmed that the event was canceled due to concerns from local law enforcement officials, but declined to comment on what triggered these concerns. The authorities found that the problem was not related to terrorism.
Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster are automatically refunded, Officials said. Tickets purchased through the box office or Ticketmaster outlets can be refunded at the time of purchase.
