As regular readers will know, we meet every Saturday to discuss our weekend game plans and see what our community members are up to. This week, however, is a bit different, with many of us spending some time celebrating the holidays and spending time with friends or family, or even taking some much needed time for some peace and quiet.
As such, this week, "What are you playing?" This feature is dedicated to the holidays, all packed in a special bumper edition. Read the entries of the Nintendo Life team and read us in the poll and comments on your own plans. Have fun!

Since Christmas is a time to spend with the family, I'm sure I'll make lots of games from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with my Munchkins at the age of 7 and 1
If the Broader Family I'm sure we'll have a few games of Super Mario Party to spend time with the kids. It's much more fun than Monopoly anyway. I hope that in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe we can find time for many common races. I am confident that I can still compete in Mario Kart. After a few rounds of Sherbet Land, we are all in a festive mood. I wish you all a Merry Christmas!

This Christmas I'll make a well-earned break, but that does not mean I will not catch up. I've completed some of the games I've missed on Nintendo Switch. So I'm going to finish Manticore: Galaxy on Fire assault on Titan 2 and Armello . I'll likely return to my two portable loves – Paladins and Warframe – while continuing to shoot in NBA 2K19 tires and grind for VC. I am nothing if not productive. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Christmas used to be a time to come up with something new, but now it's my chance to fill the gap and catch up on the things I've missed all year – Switch has this list made quite extensive in 2018 ! As I plunge into the free DLC of Overcooked 2 in 1945, I will hopefully cool the beans with Firewatch and ABZU . Once everyone slumbers, after he has covered himself with mince pies. I'm also determined to start Wolfenstein II so I can polish off the spoiler-filled GOTY podcasts that have not been played on my phone since 2017 before they're in this year's edition!
A great all!

So in recent months I have not had much of a chance to play my switch since I was an absolute pagan and slightly addicted to Black Ops 4 Elder Scrolls Online and Guild Wars 2 . However, I'm leaving for Christmas so my trusted switch will keep me company.
I have missed a few gems that I would like to dip into, like . Pokémon: Let's Go Warframe and Hollow Knight . No, I do not like Smash Bros. so I will not play this – it's just that. No doubt I will immerse myself in Splatoon 2 and the like.
This is also my last of these as I leave Nintendo Life in January to pursue a different direction. I would like to sincerely thank the helpful and friendly staff and the readers who make this site and community as great as it is. It has been a pleasure for all of you to write and I am sure you will occasionally see my name as a freelance. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

When 2018 comes to an end, you'll find that I'm doing as much cliché as possible from Nintendo, what you'd expect: plugging in my SNES classic and a bit of cute retro gaming -Sessions for the holidays. The Super Nintendo reminds me of simpler times, exquisite memories, family and friends who are no longer with us. I honor everyone with a wide smile from ear to ear, which you will seldom find among adults today, caused by such simple joys as completing The Legend of Zelda: A Connection to the Past with the conclusion F -Zero on master difficulty to enjoy the soundtrack in Secret of Mana Dracula in Super Castlevania IV dusty or just the ice level of Donkey Kong Country repeat over and over again. Oh yes, I'll be watching The Hard between SNES game sessions again! Maybe this time Hans will be away …
This was another incredible year as part of the Nintendo Life crew that I never could have imagined in my wildest optimistic expectations. I do not know what the future will bring in 2019 (hopefully a new F-Zero for Metroid Prime 4 ), so allow me to take this opportunity to read these modest words to you, the other players: Merry Holidays, loads of great video games and all the joys this life has to offer.

I plan to play many Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at Christmas. and Pokémon: Let's go, Pikachu! . If I am not in one of these games, I will try to finish several other titles before 2018 comes to an end. These include Diablo III: Eternal Collection Katamari Damacy Reroll and my last eShop purchase, Shantae: Half-Genius Hero .
Games are actually Christmas motives, I have to go somewhere else to find my correction. Maybe the Frosty Festival of the Rocket League can help me. Otherwise I will build a snowman in Minecraft .

As awful as the concept sounds, I'll probably spend most of my Christmas break from the games for once – even working here in the Nintendo Life Factory from Dreams and Magic ™ may be after some time to take their toll. Even so, I've been working to unlock as many Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters as possible for possible family games when I visit. I doubt that my break from play will last long. Similarly, I've already planned Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Super Mario Party and maybe even Pokémon, Let's Go, Eevee! for the weird multiplayer session (or in the case of Pokémon, just to showcase my collection). Now that I think about it, it does not sound like I'm even having a break from playing, right? Well … happy holidays, everyone!

The holiday means we have a long break ahead of us and things will be a little quieter than usual. For me, this means it's time to get involved in some of the switch's more time-consuming games. During the holidays I will play Octopath Traveler and Valkyria Chronicles 4 . I have been curious since the release of Octopath and have somehow managed to stay without spoilers, but I feel like I will work on both games well into the new year.
