Taylor Lewan makes wide receiver money.
The Tennessee Titans announced that the left tackle signed a contract extension on Friday.
NFL network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the expansion will cost $ 80 million ($ 16 million per season) for five years, with $ 50 million per source guarantees informed about the deal. The deal makes Lewan the new highest paying offensive lineman in NFL history, beating Nate Solder's $ 62 million four-year deal from this offseason.
Lewan is earning $ 9.34 million in the last year of his rookie deal. Now he is in Tennessee through the 2023 season under contract.
Lewan, No. 1
Lewan stayed out of seasonal activity early this spring, while both sides negotiated. The left-hand device was reported this week in good faith to the training camp. According to all reports, readiness to report in the camp contributed to the conclusion of the agreement.
For the Titans, securing Marcus Mariota's blindness to the future was a priority. After Jack Conklin had a knee injury in the first round, Tennessee Lewan had to make happy to move into the season.
With salaries continuing to rise and solid offensive tackles becoming scarce, there's a good chance that Lewan will not prevail as the offensive lineman is top-notch. But the star has earned the badge today.
