Taylor Swift notes seventh album with website countdown

The singer surprised her fans on Friday evening with a countdown for the 26th of April.

In the midst of frantic speculation as to when she will release new music, Taylor Swift has updated her website and Instagram with all signs to April 26th.

3 years of stay until … something. (An album? A single? We'll have to wait and see.) Meanwhile, Swift's Instagram biography has been updated to read "4.26". Since the clock is counted down to midnight on Thursday night, April 25, it looks like a release of New Music Friday. In late February, the theorizing of the fans began, based on Swift's Instagram post on February 24, that the superstar's seventh album was on its way. The Swifties noticed that Swift's subtitles contained exactly seven Palm emojis, meaning TS7 was imminent. They also pointed out that there were 61 stars in the photo – and it turns out that there are exactly 61 days between February 24, when the original Instagram photo was posted, and April 26, the calculated date ,

After Swift won the Tour of the Year award at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, dedicated to theories that she would soon be releasing new music, and thanked her fans for her attention. "I love your passion, I love your attention to detail, I love how important it is to you," she said, adding, "If there's new music, you'll be the first to know it."

Swift's last album was her sixth project, Reputation which was released in November 2017 and started with 1.2 million copies sold in the first week. In March 2018, the album was sold for the sixth time and sold more than 2 million copies in the US.
