A Tennessee teenager who disappeared more than two weeks ago was found in Wisconsin on Thursday. The same day, her adoptive father was charged with rape. The police said.
"She's safe, she's in custody, and that's the best outcome for the situation," Jones said during a press conference, according to NBC affiliate WBIR.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and law enforcement agencies in Other States helped investigate the disappearance of the girl. NBC does not report the names of potential victims of sexual assault.
The adoptive father, who was charged with the case on Thursday, was arrested without arrest for a single rape counter, according to the Monroe County Sheriff Office.
