According to FirstEnergy, more than 40,000 customers in Northeast Ohio are currently without electricity due to severe thunderstorms in the region.

Almost all of these failures are found in the counties of Cuyahoga, Lake and Lorain alone. While most should be turned back on until 8pm, some services were not restored until Sunday afternoon.

Heavy storm warning was effective for parts of Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake Counties until 5:15 am WKYC meteorologist Matt Wintz has already posted an update on the situation on Facebook.
