Terry Crews beats back his #MeToo critics with a single powerful tweet.
On Friday, Brooklyn Nine-Nine wrote actor, 49, "Why did not you say anything? I did, why did not you repel him? I did, why did not you beat him up? I did Why did not you tell the police, I did, Why did not you file charges, I did, Why did you just let it happen, I did not, Why did not you beat him up (Sigh) "
Crews is one of the few famous men who came up with a #Metoo story as part of the Harvey-Weinstein controversy that rocked Hollywood.
On Tuesday, the actor addressed a Senate Judiciary Committee, telling his story of alleged sexual assault by an agent at WME.
Although he never mentioned him by name, crews previously talked about Agent Adam Venit, who claims Crews fondled him at a party. The actor filed a lawsuit against WME and Venit, which was later dismissed for prescription. Venit was suspended and later demoted.
Later in the hearing, crews revealed that he would not appear in The Expendables 4 because of the lawsuit against the powerful Hollywood agency.
"I've done three films called The Expendables with Sylvester Stallone," Crews said. "The producer of this movie called my manager and asked him to drop my case so I could be in the fourth installment of the movie, and if not, it would cause trouble."
Crews then said that he decided
"Abuse protects abusers ̵
Crews said he faced a rebound as a male survivor of sexual assault and blamed the venomous masculinity that she did not believe in sacrifices.
"This is how poisonous masculinity permeates culture, and when I told my story, I was told time and again that this was not abuse," he said. "It was just a joke, it was just a game, but I can say that one man's game is the humiliation of another man, and I decided to tell my story and share my experiences with millions of other survivors That I know how hard it is to move forward, I know the shame associated with the attack, that happened to me. "
According to legal documents previously obtained by PEOPLE Venit a general denial of "any single allegation" made by crews in a lawsuit filed by the actor against him in December.
In the documents filed at the end of January, Venit denied that Crews "suffered any injury or loss," and also claimed that his alleged acts and behavior were not "sexual."
