Tesla has been a bustling store for years, thanks to a passionate ownership base and fans who are enthusiastic supporters of the company and its CEO Elon Musk.
But until now, these Tesla branded items – everything from water bottles and hats to jackets, chargers, and once a surfboard – have been sold through the automaker's own website.
Tesla has now expanded its ambitions and opened a business on Amazon. (One reader brought TechCrunch to the store, but the story was first reported by Electrek). Tesla confirmed that the store opened earlier this week.
It should be noted that the store at Amazon is currently not as robust as the one on the Tesla website. However, there are at least two items that can only be found on the Amazon page: an iPhone 8+ case and a Tesla iPhone X folio case. There are no prices listed for the items and they are currently "not available".
In fact, every item in the store is "unavailable." It is not clear when these items are in stock or why they are currently unavailable. So many questions.
Tesla goods, especially specialties, tend to sell out fast – for example, the Tesla brand surfboard sold for $ 1,500 in one day However, the Mini Diecast Tesla models sold in the Amazon store appear to be in stock on the Tesla website, and we will update the story once the puzzle is solved.
